Former Michigan basketball star dies at 33

A former University of Michigan basketball star has died at the age of 33.

Darius Morris, who played for the Wolverines under John Beilein from 2009 to 2011, has died. according to Shams Charania with The Athletics.

The cause of his death has been released. TMZ reports that his body was found in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Morris played four years in the NBA from 2011 to 2015 for the Lakers, 76ers, Clippers, Grizzlies and Nets.

While at Michigan, Morris led the Big Ten in assists and set the Michigan single-season assist record, later broken by Trey Burke.

Morris didn’t play basketball in French leagues until 2020.
