Colorado Rockies game #33 thread: Austin Gomber vs. Jared Jones

After winning the series opener 3-2, the Colorado Rockies (8-24) will look to continue their winning ways against the Pittsburgh Pirates (14-19).

Yesterday’s win ended the Rockies’ five-game losing streak and 10-game losing streak at Coors Field. They have yet to win consecutive games this season or any series. Both are the longest streaks in franchise history.

They will try to change that today.

Austin Gomber will take the mound for the Rockies, who has a 4.40 ERA (32.0 IP, 22 Ks) this season. He gave up seven home runs. Like the rest of the pitching staff, Gomber has received little run support.

The Pirates start Jared Jones (3.52 ERA in 34.0 innings). He gave up seven home runs, walked five and struck out 42.

Plus, the Pirates celebrate ‘Star Wars’ Day, so be prepared for lots of intergalactic shenanigans.
